In the last 30 minutes I have: unearthed a keepsake outfit for Grace's 4 month pictures from the mountain of boxes in the attic, responded to a call of "mom, emergency! the bathroom is about to become a swimming pool!", fed baby, changed baby and mommy due to Niagara Falls of urine issuing from diaper, found underwear for mysteriously naked little boy (he had pants on when I started nursing...), broke up MMA fight in living room, responded to call of "mom! emergency! there are bubbles everywhere!"
I'm exhausted...and it's only 10AM.

Luck O'the Irish
My little leprechauns on St. Patrick's Day -- a salute to their Irish heritage.
I was trying to get a good, wrinkle-nose smile from Grace but she wasn't in the mood. Nonetheless she's still our bright-eyed beauty isn't she!

Pizza with the Pastor -- Sam style
The end of February brought with it the Pre-K and Kindergarten Bible Study teachers' day to have pizza with the pastor. The idea is to allow pre-school workers, who are often sequestered from "big" church and other adults, the opportunity to fellowship with like-servants and hear a word of encouragement from the pastor. I always like getting a chance to talk with other pre-school teachers; we're friends with many of them (my OB actually teaches kinder down the hall from us). And it's nice to catch up with our pastor's wife -- I taught their son my first year in Katy, she and I taught VBS together one year and now they've adopted a little girl with the same birthday as Grace. Needless to say I was actually looking forward to this commitment. And apparently so was Sam...
When Barbara, our pre-school minister, began speaking Luke leaned over to Sam to tell him to quiet down because, "Ms. Barbara is talking." Sam's response was an extra-loud declaration of "I talkin' too!" on repeat. Fantastic.
Then Alex, our pastor, stood to speak -- he said, "I'd just like to say a quick word." And before he could say the quick word, Sam belched loud enough to shake the foundation of the building. It was brilliant comedic timing and the room burst into laughter. I wished the floor would open up and swallow me whole.
And thus ended our Pizza with the Pastor...

A week of milestones
This has been an absolutely HUGE week for our little family. Normally I try not to brag too much but I just can't help it -- that's how monumental our week has been.
JACK
Jack this week demonstrated some incredible math skills. He walked Luke and I through multiplication tables and explained what multiplication means. Truthfully we aren't certain where he picked this up. Luke has mentioned basic multiplication before (using on 2x3) but he's never mentioned the numbers Jack was using. Also this week Jack decided to school us all on his knowledge of early America and the history of the flag -- now we've all been "taught" about Betsy Ross, the 13 colonies and George Washington. Finally, Jack is studying currency this week in school so before carpool one day we were working on some basic addition. Jack couldn't remember the difference in a penny and a nickel so he flipped the coins over and READ the value of each. He's been reading simple words ever since.
SAM
Sam woke up Tuesday morning and declared he was ready for underwear. I doubted it but complied with his request. He made it through the morning with no accidents but still I doubted. Then he made it dry through nap time. Still I doubted we were really doing this. Finally about 4pm, after a day of no accidents I was convinced Sam was actually going to potty-train. Luke brought home pull-ups for night time that evening and we haven't looked back since! Sam has only had 2 accidents in 4 days (one was totally my fault), is dry throughout the entire night and all through nap time. He can tell us when he needs to go and can basically go by himself (he needs a little help aiming). The entire process happened so dramatically fast that it seems as if a switch was flipped.
GRACE
Not to be outdone by her brothers, Little Miss rolled over front to back last night. We actually have never seen the roll -- she rolls in her sleep and wakes up oh so unhappy. We find a flipped over baby in her crib. Luke had to flip her at least once last night. Also -- apparently she talks alot...at least that was the comment the pediatrician made today. Finally Grace turned 4 months old. Technically she wouldn't be 4 months until the 30th but that day doesn't come in February so...not sure what to do there. Grace had her well-baby appointment today and she is 13lbs 12oz (up 4oz since Monday of this week!), 23.75" and had a head circumference of 16". She is meeting if not surpassing all her developmental milestones (the rolling and talking pushed her over the edge!).
Finally I, with the help and understanding of Luke, was able to, along with my business partners, launch Tot2Tot, LLC. See the post below for it's details.
